Q: What age should my dancer be to audition for certain companies?

Audition age cut-off birthdate is Oct 16, 2024. If your dancer’s age overlaps in audition ages, audition UP.  (ADFA reserves the right to place dancers where we feel they will best grow within their technique capabilities. Remember, it is not a race to the finish line. As dance educators, we are well-versed in understanding and acknowledging your dancer’s craft.)

Q: When will audition results be available?

Audition results for both competition companies and and Nutcracker roles will be announced the week of TBD.

Q: What level technique class(es) will my dancer be placed?

Technique placement addresses each individual dancer’s need to gain strength and growth. If a dancer progresses up in Company, it does not necessarily mean they will automatically be placed up in technique class. 

Q: I am unsure if my child should partake in competitive dance. How do I learn more?

We encourage you to attend our parent informational session. See below for more information. We would love for your dancer audition! It will be a great experience for them.

Q: Is there a fee to audition?

There is a $50 audition fee per student, not to exceed $120 per family.  Audition fees are due at the time of audition.

This meeting is for parents of dancers interested in auditioning for our ballet or competitive companies. We ask that at least one parent be present. We will go over expectations and requirements for the upcoming year and you will have a chance to have any questions you may have answered.
