Our History

The Academy of Dance was established over 49 years ago, with the priority of ensuring that students gain knowledge of dance, as well as the emotional qualities and confidence to perform.

MISSION + VISION

Our goal at ADFA is to inspire qualities in our students that will help them to develop a love for dance, an appreciation of the arts, and success in any career they choose. Being a dancer at ADFA instills enriching life skills such as self-discipline, respect and an eagerness to learn that benefit them far beyond the dance floor. We promise to provide an environment that encourages having fun while ensuring a quality dance education for all of the students who enter our studio.

From One Great Leader to Another

ADFA was established in 1977 by original owner Karen Brown Deese and in 2004 she entrusted the role of artistic director to Sadie Roberts-Doughten. After 5 years of dedication and alignment on the values within the studio and what the future of ADFA would look like Karen passed the torch of ownership to Sadie knowing that she would be the perfect person to continue the standards of exceptional dance education and a love for the art of dance.
