BALLET

ADFA prides itself on its outstanding ballet program. This timeless art form teaches students discipline, balance, agility, musicality and an appreciation of the arts. Ballet classes are divided into five levels and students are placed according to age and skill level based on a faculty evaluation. Individual ballet classes are offered to ages 7-18 years old. Under the age of 7 dancers will be learning the fundamentals of ballet in a combo class.

Pointe

Pointe is an advanced form of ballet tecnique, the main difference is that the shoe worn has a hardedened toe and reinforced arch which enables a dancer to dance on the tips of their toes. Pointe is not introduced fully until the student has a strong understanding of alignment and body awareness. Teacher approval is required to go en pointe
