Fine Arts in Statesville. While at the studio, Amanda received the Kim Goodman Scholarship and was a member of the ADFA Competition Troupes. She was also crowned the Teen Dogwood Princess in 1997. Amanda was also a Miss Virginia Dancer and performed on the live television show. After high school graduation, Amanda attended Oklahoma City University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Performing Arts Degree in Dance Performance, with a Minor in History. She graduated with honors (Magna Cum Laude). While attending the university, Amanda also performed with the American Spirit Dance Company. She has performed and choreographed for OCU Choreography Showcases. She performed as a lead dancer for Six Flags and “The World of Magic Corporate Shows.” Amanda has also traveled internationally as an assistant casting director/choreographer with Silvertree Productions, LLC. She also has had experience teaching children at studios in Oklahoma, such as Applause Studio. During that time, he received training in all forms of dance from his mother, Scottie Davis, and teachers, Sandy and Sydney Overcash. At the age of 14, Greyson began his focus on tap. After attending college at NC State, he began developing his own artistic direction, focusing on the rhythmic side of tap. Greyson uses a variety of music styles to accompany his understated and smooth style. He now works for Applause Talent and is a contributor to #bringtaptothepeople tap tutorials. Greyson also teaches for three dance studios throughout North Carolina and travels the southeastern part of the country, teaching and choreographing. She trained at Rhythm Dance Studio in Charlotte NC and then studied freelance in New York with such dance icons as Sheila Barker, Frank Hatchett, Jason Parsons, Mia Michaels, Ray Leeper, Jermaine Brown and BT. Sadie’s professional dance credits include commercials and industrial shows for Belk, Levi and Nike. Sadie also performed as a Kiss 102 dancer, Charlotte Heat Cheerleader, and for the television show Star Search. While Sadie enjoys dancing professionally, her true passion lies in teaching and choreography. You can find many of Sadie’s students pursuing dance as a profession. Many of her students can be found dancing for Holland American Cruise Lines, industrial shows, and theme parks to dancing in music videos with Missy Elliot to performing in Sonya Tayeh’s dance company. Sadie believes in a well rounded dance education leading to her dancers performing with American Ballet Theatre, School for American Ballet, Ballet Semperoper, Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson One Show in Vegas, and Hubbard Street Dance in Chicago. While believing in the power of dance performance, Sadie has also created a strong program focusing on the educational challenge of dance. Many of her students are attending prestigious college dance programs at University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Marymount Manhattan, Suny Purchase, University of Alabama, University of Las Vegas Nevada, University of Greensboro and Eastern Carolina University just to name a few. Sadie was the artistic director for The Academy of Dance and Fine Arts for five years prior to becoming the owner. ADFA has been a staple in the Mooresville community for many years and Sadie continues the studio’s success with her commitment to the art of dance. “Dance is not just a physical activity you can have fun with but also an art form to be appreciated, nurtured, and respected”, says Roberts. Sadie not only loves being in the classroom at ADFA but also teaches and judges for conventions and competitions across the country. Upon her family's move to NC, she began instruction at ADFA where she remained for 10 years, dancing competitively, achieving numerous awards and recognitions. She was also involved in multiple pageants and cheered competitively alongside of dance. Lindsey continued her dance career at UNC-Charlotte as a 49er Goldduster, where she gained 3 national titles, danced at college basketball games, and performed for many school functions. Lindsey graduated with honors, earning her RN/BSN in Nursing. She currently practices as a Registered Nurse traveling to different facilities throughout Charlotte and surrounding areas where she specializes in cardiovascular nursing. Lindsey is currently certified in BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), and Cardiovascular Nursing. Lindsey continues to use dance to bring the community together as a faithful Dance/Worship leader at The Cove Church in Mooresville. She helps choreograph & film the dances, spends time training other worship members, also she leads worship services for the K-5th graders. Growing up, she studied under Sadie Roberts-Doughten, Melissa “MJ'' Jackson, and Cheryl Klaft at The Academy of Dance and Fine Arts in Mooresville, NC. She was a member of the National Dance Honor Society from 2016-2021 and is now the sponsor of ADFA’s NHSDA chapter. MacKenzie was a recipient of a NYCDAF college scholarship and has received awards from the Charlotte Ballet for technique and choreography. MacKenzie has had the privilege to study and work with Twyla Tharp, Yin Yue, Elizabeth Roxas-Dobrish, Alberto Del Saz, Nancy Lushington, Laura Glen, and many others. Post graduation, she has found her love for teaching and is thrilled to be back teaching at the studio that raised her. Along with teaching dance, MacKenzie spends her time dancing as a member of Baren Dance Company, the Charlotte Dance Festival Ensemble, and freelancing in the Charlotte area. She has performed at Goodyear Arts, Small Plates Choreography Festival, Charlotte International Arts Festival, Palm Desert Choreography Festival, and North Carolina Dance Festival. MacKenzie is a firm believer in the impact and value of arts education. The social and emotional benefits of the arts extend beyond the stage and the studio. Originally from Davidson, NC, she trained for 15 years at ADFA under the direction of Melissa Jackson, Sadie Roberts-Doughten, and other renowned faculty, building a strong technical and artistic foundation. While pursuing her degree, Avery studied under esteemed faculty members including Qianping Guo, Cornelius Carter, JaMorris Rivers, Mary Roberts, Lawrence Jackson, and Lindsay Benton. Avery furthered her training by attending the NYCDA Summer Dance Intensive and the Joffrey Ballet Summer Intensive, where she studied with industry professionals and expanded her versatility across multiple dance styles. At the University of Alabama, Avery was an active member of Dance Alabama!, a fully student-run organization that highlights original student choreography. She performed in over 20 works and choreographed 5 original pieces for both the fall and spring concerts, as well as the spring exhibition. She was also selected to join Mpowr, a commercial dance company founded by a graduate student, gaining valuable experience in the commercial/contemporary dance space.
